Howdy

Sorry for the lack of posts.  Heather came to visit for two weeks in late Dec/early Jan, and then I've been studying kanji, snowboarding or playing Starcraft 2 for the rest of the time.  Heathers visit was pretty well summarized in our facebook pictures and this youtube video:

I'll go back to updating a bit more often once I have all the kanji learned.

Until then, I'll leave you with probably the most important thing that Japan has taught me so far:

If something makes you mad, you should probably stop doing whatever it is that is making you mad.  Life is very short, and theres no time for fussing and fighting my friends.

If you get mad a really slow drivers, then leave for things 5 minutes early and put on some good music in the car.  If you get mad at American politics, then stop watching Fox News or the Daily Show or whatever gets you mad..  If you always are mad at work, then brush up that resume and look for a new job.  Maybe never having enough money makes you mad, well you had enough money to eat food today, live in a place that provides shelter and even had enough left over to manage your way to a computer with an internet connection, what more do you want?  If you get mad at people preaching in their blogs, then you should probably stop reading blogs.

It's just so refreshing to go from a place where everyone complains and is angry to a place where nobody complains and is happy.  I haven't met anybody here that gets mad over slow people, politics, money, blog posts or materialistic possessions and I just always remember being in America and always being mad because of slow people, politics, money, blog posts and materialistic possessions.  Now that I have stopped worrying about those things, my life has become so much more awesome and I hope yours can too.

Ok sorry about that, end of rant.
